I cannot believe we’re only 7 months out from the wedding!! Things are really picking up speed at this point. I think every other thought is about the wedding, and I know it’s only going to get worse as we get closer to the big day. It’s honestly wild how much goes into planning a wedding. There are so many vendors to book and details to iron out. I’m so grateful that we booked Jill from Tuscan Wedding to help us with everything. Her knowledge of weddings in Italy has been invaluable. For example, I recently asked her about heaters or blankets for our al fresco dinner since the wedding is in late October. She was able to give me some great insight into what is actually needed/worth it.
But even with a wedding planner, there’s so much for Jon and me to do! Below are some of the things we’ve been up to in preparation for October 21st.
Bachelorette plans
The most immediate wedding event is my bachelorette, and I am SO excited about it. In early June, my girlfriends and I are going to descend on Paris for an epic weekend. Because of my time living abroad in Amsterdam, my friends are split across Europe and the US. I was lucky enough to be able to schedule my bachelorette the weekend after a friend’s wedding in Liverpool, so a bunch of my US friends can attend. I recently received the itinerary, and it’s going to be the most amazing weekend. We are going to be dining at an epic restaurant with Eiffel Tower views and dancing the night away at the French club.
With the bachelorette plans only two months away, I’m focusing a lot on what I need for that weekend. I recently fell in love with this dress, which I would be perfect for one of the nights out (the theme is birds of a feather!). I just need to find it on sale! These shoes have also been a hit. I wore them on my birthday to break them in, and they’re so comfortable. I’ve also been doing a lot of research on Tiktok for goodie bags for everyone. I’m so torn because I want to do something chic, but also don’t want to spend $$$!
Beauty
In my last wedding planning update, I wrote about my wedding wellness plan. I’m still mostly sticking to that with a few updates. I started going to Sofie Pavitt in February for their acne program. I’ve always had breakouts and was impressed by their results. I’m currently on a plan that has me swapping out all my skincare, makeup, and hair products for acne-safe versions. They say it takes 90 days for skin turnover, so I’m excited to see results in the next two months.
I also mentioned in my last post that I was having a hair appointment. It honestly went so well! I spoke with both my colorist and stylist about my plans for the wedding. They helped me determine when to schedule my cuts and color. We also spoke about extensions for volume and my stylist walked me through what to ask for when I get my hair done on the day.
Vendors
One of my biggest focuses outside of the bachelorette is getting all our vendors booked. We have a lot of the big ones already and are almost there with the catering plan. I would love to have all our vendors booked in the next few weeks, so we don’t have to worry about that and can focus on details. Still on the list are lighting/music, the florist, the videographer, and guest transportation.
Wedding details
My planner and I have been chatting more about the small details of the wedding, which is the stuff I get so excited about. We’re constantly sending each other texts back and forth with inspiration photos. The big one is figuring out how to make my flower vision come to life without spending a fortune. But we’ve also been chatting about place settings, the seating chart display, invitations, etc. I cannot wait to see things come together!
Bridal shower plans
I’ve also recently started conversations with my mom and future mother-in-law about my bridal shower. It won’t be until the end of summer, but I wanted to pick a date for those who need to fly in. We’re going to do it in Jersey City so it’s easy to access for family in Jersey and my friends in NYC. I’m so excited for another opportunity to celebrate with my loved ones!
We’ve got a lot on our plate over the next month, so keep an eye out for another post! Hopefully, I will have all the vendors booked by then and should be ready to get our invitations out. Wild!
