It’s that time of year again where the weather can’t make up its mind. One day it feels like full-on spring and the next it’s 39 and raining. This back and forth can make it very hard to get dressed. Enter my favorite piece for transitional weather – the floral maxi dress.
Every spring and fall, I find myself reaching for the super versatile piece over and over. We had a slightly warmer day when I shot these photos, so I paired my Mango dress (EU) with a classic leather jacket (EU). My favorite black heeled boots tied the look together.
Styling a floral maxi is surprisingly easy. Here are some of the things I love about styling a floral maxi dress:
It’s long enough for tights
When the weather is still chilly, you can easily wear tights underneath for added warmth. In fact, I’m wearing them in this post!
You can pair it with almost any coat
A floral maxi dress looks great with a short leather jacket like mine or with a longer trench coat. Because of the length, you don’t have to worry about looking like you’re not wearing anything underneath if you zip up your coat.
Shoes can totally change up its look
Maxi dresses look great with boots, sneakers or sandals. Literally you can pair any shoe with it and give off a totally different vibe. I’m a big fan of ankle or knee high boots with a maxi. But I’ll also throw on a pair of white sneakers or flat sandals when it gets warmer.
The floral print does all the work for you
With a floral maxi dress, you don’t have to stress too much about styling. The dress can easily be paired with a jacket and shoes, but other than that let it do it’s thing. It takes all the work out of getting dressed.
