I feel like it’s basically a sin not to wear stripes while in France. Everyone knows the icon image of a Frenchman in his breton striped shirt, wearing a beret and carrying a baguette. Plus, the French have such a wonderfully classic style with many striped pieces that can be worn over-and-over in so many different ways. And who wouldn’t want to fit in when that’s the style?
When my brother decided to come visit Jon and I in Amsterdam for his spring break, we figured it would be nice to do a quick trip since travel within the EU is so easy. Naturally, I’ve been majorly craving sunshine and warmth, so we decided to stay in Antibes in the French Riviera. Which meant the perfect opportunity to break out my new spring/summer shirt dress.
I picked this shirt dress up at H&M, and was drawn to the stripes, as well as the midi length (and the price because it’s under $50/40EUR!). I paired it with my new straw loafers that I’m going to be wearing on repeat this summer. I also brought along my net bag and filled it with fresh oranges from the market.
I can’t tell you how French I felt wandering down the narrow streets of Antibes in my spring/summer shirt dress, carrying a warm baguette first thing in the morning. Pretty sure that’s what heaven looks like!
Do you guys like the idea of a spring/summer shirt dress? I’m so excited to keep this on rotation throughout the warmer months!
Xx, Kelsey
