If you’re anything like me, you’re DYING for spring. And maybe you’re also like me in the sense that the weather where you live hasn’t caught up with your dreams of spring (to everyone who lives somewhere warm, I’m insanely jealous). One of the hardest things I find about living somewhere where spring doesn’t actually come in March is that all of the fashion in stores and online is a bit too springy to be practical. While I’m so ready to step outside in something lightweight and floral, it’s not going to happen until the weather warms up or I take a trip to the South of France. Dressing for the winter-to-spring transition isn’t easy when everything you want to buy is meant for 70+ degree weather.
But there is a way you can be both warm AND feel like spring. Enter the best winter-to-spring transition piece – a sweater in a spring color palette. Wearing a sweater in a spring color can help you feel like spring is actually coming without freezing your butt off. I found this sweater at H&M, and the orange and blue colors feel way less wintery than the dark sweaters I’ve been wearing since October.
This sweater has an over-sized fit, which I love. To keep it from swallowing me, I paired it with my go-to J. Crew Factory toothpick jeans and heeled combat boots for a little leg lengthening. And of course, the ubiquitous Starbucks cup full of something warm because it’s going to be a few months before I can drink an iced coffee.
I’m linking some of my favorite sweaters in the below carousel to help you make the winter-to-spring transition without frostbite. Let’s all say a collective prayer that the warm weather gets here sooner rather than later!
Xx, Kelsey
