Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever owned any summer maxi skirts. I’ve always felt they were for hippies or something. But it makes sense with the popularity of maxi dresses, that skirts would follow. And skirts give you so many morestyling options! I found this one a while back at Zara, and was totally willing to give it a try! I ended up being totally shocked by how cute and flattering it is. Plus the colorful stitching is such a great detail and keeps the skirt from feeling too bohemian. Wearing it makes me think I should be throwing a summer fiesta – I feel like the dancing girl emoji!
I paired this maxi skirt with a white tee that I knotted in the back, but I think it would work just as well with a fitted tank or a crop top. My round straw bag complimented the skirt without competing with it. I really wanted the skirt to be front and center!
I’ve put together five additional summer maxi skirts under $130 that would be a great introduction to this style. I’m definitely glad that I’ve gotten past my preconceived notions about summer maxi skirts, and hope to find at least one more to rock this summer.

- Daisy Print Skirt – I LOVE this print. It’s such a stand out and very on trend. The cut is also super flattering. Another option that would work with a white tee like I did in this post, or with a tank or blouse. This one might be my new favorite.
- Statement Red Skirt – I can imagine this skirt with a crop top for the Fourth of July or a summer wedding. It’s a total attention-grabber in the best kind of way.
- Polka Dots – This maxi skirt is so versatile. It looks expensive enough to be dressed up with heeled sandals and a silk tank. But would also work with white sneakers and a t-shirt. Plus polka dots are still on trend this summer.
- Updated Classic – This black skirt will go with anything and everything in your closet. Plus it’s got such a budget friendly pricetag. You will get more than your money’s worth out of this one.
- High Low Florals – This skirt is super flirty and fun. The print is perfect for all you girly-girls and the cut will show off a nice bit of leg. Highly recommend.
