I’ve been trying not to stock up on too many beauty products this year because I’m being thoughtful about wedding planning (and wedding budgeting!). That being said, it’s my first summer back in the United States in several years, and the beauty industry here is just so much better. When we were living in the Netherlands, I used to buy products in the US and bring them back with me because they weren’t available in the EU. Now, I’ve got unlimited access.
That being said, I’m not buying products like crazy. Instead, I’m doing a lot of research and thinking through my purchases. I want everything I buy to be effective and worth the cost, especially as I start my pre-wedding beauty regimen. So below are just four summer 2022 beauty buys that I already swear by. And if you’re looking for more summer beauty buys, check out this post.
Xx, Kelsey
- Nutrafol Build-Up Blocker – I am a huge fan of Nutrafol. Their vitamins have saved me from stress-related hair loss. I’m not taking them at the moment, but plan to start again next year in preparation for the wedding. Until then, I’ve been trying out their new line of haircare products. I love this scalp mask that helps balance oil production. It also feels really good to scrub into your scalp.
- Kiehl’s Retinol Serum – I’ve been regularly going to Skin Laundry for laser facials, and my facialist suggested I get on a more regular retinol routine. I tried a sample of this serum and have really loved it, so of course it makes the list of summer 2022 beauty buys. Retinol is great for helping with skin cell turnover, and this formula also helps minimize dryness and peeling.
- Nars Light Reflecting Foundation – I’d heard great things about this foundation prior to purchasing, and it lives up to the hype. For the past several years, I’ve been using a cc cream (which I still love), but I was looking to add a true foundation to my routine. This foundation is perfect for medium coverage and is supposed to improve skin over time.
- Bloomeffects Dew Drops – This serum has made many of my beauty buys lists over the years because I worked for the company. Now that I’m back in the US, I have a million serums at my fingertips, but I keep reordering this one. It’s so hydrating, provides a smooth finish prior to makeup, and doesn’t peel when layered under moisturizer.
