As you guys know from this post, I’ve been on a shopping freeze. This means that I’m looking at my closet in a whole new way, especially when it comes to versatility. If I can make an item work in multiple ways, that’s a win for me. Which is why I wanted to show you how to make one dress work for day or night.
My aunt bought this dress for me when she was visiting because of the stunning bow detail on the back. I love a dress with a statement back because it’s so unexpected when you turn around. This dress is really great in particular because it’s not too formal that you can’t dress it down, but it’s dressy enough that you can make it work for a more formal event.
The best thing about making one dress work for day or night is that the only things you have to change up are your accessories. For day, I wore the dress with wrap sandals that I purchased last year from J. Crew, and my favorite black laser cut bag from Mango. For night, I simply switched to a block heel from Zara and my YSL chain strap bag. If I wanted to dress it up even more, I’d wear a higher and thinner heel.
And that’s it! It’s so simple to make one dress work for day or night. Just make sure to pick something in a material and style that isn’t too formal or too informal. Somewhere in between, and all you have to do is change your shoes and bag!
Xx, Kelsey
