If there’s one pattern I love this time of year, it’s summer stripes. To be honest, I love stripes all year round, but there’s something about styling them for summer that feels fresh. Maybe it’s the nautical vibes that I always get from blue and white stripes. It makes me feel like I should be out on a boat, or at least sitting near a body of water with a refreshing drink in my hand.
I have a few really classic summer stripes that I wear time and time again, but I wanted to share with you guys how you can style them to be a little more contemporary for 2018. One of the trends that’s come along in the last few years is off-the-shoulder tops, and it’s honestly not going anywhere this summer. I paired this adorable navy and white Banana Republic top with my favorite white skinny jeans from Gap. I love this top because it’s OTS, but still super comfy. Some OTS tops can feel like a chore to wear, but this one is like wearing a t-shirt (albeit a trendy t-shirt).
I threw on my favorite pair of Marc Fisher wedges because they’re so cute and comfortable. They just feel so summery to me. I bought them last year when I got a job promotion, and they’ve turned out to be an amazing purchase. They’re super comfortable and easy to walk in. I walked halfway across Amsterdam while shooting a few weeks ago and didn’t have any issues! Lastly I carried the straw tote I picked up in Marrakech. It’s become my go-to tote for the beach or market shopping.
Do you guys love summer stripes as much as I do? I think if I could only wear one print again for the rest of summer, it would be this!
Xx, Kelsey
