Happy Friday the Thirteenth! I’m a little late getting this post out because our internet went out as soon as I decided to write. Probably just a ghost messing with us. Realistically, it was probably because they’re opening a metro below our apartment. I have to say I’m very excited because it’s supposed to take something like 3 minutes to get all the way up to Centraal Station.
This week has been one of those where things go both super quickly and super slowly. Ever have one of those? I shared a really personal post yesterday, and I’ve been overwhelmed by all your support. Thank you! I never want to come across like I’m complaining, but I also don’t want to be fake and pretend things are always sunshine and roses. Because that’s not real life.
But overall this week has been a positive one. I was supposed to go on my first Bumble BFF date this week, but it got cancelled last minute. I have another one scheduled for next week, so I’ll be sharing on IG how that goes. I’m super excited to meet more women in Amsterdam and really expand my circle.
I was hoping to do a day trip to Brugge this weekend, but it looks like that’s going to have to go on hold until after we get back from Colorado. There’s just too much to do around here. Especially because Jon will be headed to NY for work a week early, and we have some tailoring to get done. Sometimes you just have to admit that life needs to happen first!
I am getting pretty excited for our Colorado trip, and have been brainstorming post ideas. If there’s anything you’d like to know about Denver or Colorado Springs, let me know in the comments!
Hope you’ve all had a great week and an even better weekend!
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: WEEK 9
I just ordered these shoes to go with my bridesmaid dress for my friend’s wedding at the end of the month. To be honest, I’m not sure they’re going to be the most comfortable, but that might be because I have skater feet and bunions to fit into them. I bought this pair because a) they were super cheap as part of the Asos sale (35 EUR/$42) and b) the heel isn’t too high. My friend that’s getting married is a good 7 inches shorter than me, so I don’t want to be too much of a giant.
I also got a little carried away with the sale and broke my shopping freeze to buy this swimsuit and this dress. The swimsuit came in tall, and I was able to order my regular size. It’s so so cute on! I ordered a M in the dress, but it is super short on my long torso. I haven’t decided if I’m going to get the L or just go with something else.
While I get excited about Colorado, I’m also dreaming of shopping some of my favorite stores. Banana Republic is definitely number one on that list. At the moment I’m digging this eyelet dress and this jumpsuit.
I won’t be shopping the Nordstrom anniversary sale, but if you’re in the states you should be. It’s open for card holders now and will open on the 20th to the public. I’m digging these Marc Fisher white boots, these stunning leopard mules, these super cool asymmetrical jeans (almost half off!), this chunky cardigan, this Charlotte Tilbury face palette, and lastly this J. Crew coat because these things never go on sale. Let me know if you’re shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and what you end up getting! I’m jealous!
Jon and I are doing our typical Mexican tonight and then holding off until CO. A friend recently introduced me to Your Little Black Book blog, which has great Amsterdam guides. I’m going to use it next time we go to dinner and want to try somewhere new!
For all my international girls out there, I just found this really great transfer website called TransferWise. You can transfer money across countries for far fewer fees. They tell you exactly how much you’ll get charged and exactly how much you’ll get after the exchange. Click this link to get your first transfer up to 500 pounds for free!
I shared these Marc Fisher wedges on IG and in this post this week, and they were super popular with you all. Honestly one of my favorite purchases. They’re classic and super comfy!
Leaving you all with a quote this week that I’m really loving.
To be content doesn’t mean you don’t desire more, it means you’re thankful for what you have and patient for what’s to come. – Tony Gaskins
