Isn’t it so scary sometimes how quickly time flies? I can’t believe I’ve already been doing Friday Favorites for a month now. Or that I’ve been unemployed for almost four months. Or that it’s already the 8th of June. Things need to slow down!
If you’ve been following along, you know how crazy busy Jon and I have been over the past month. A trip to Marrakech, one to Croatia, about 527893 visitors. My aunt is here to visit for the weekend, and she’s the last visitor that we have scheduled for summer. It’s going to be weird not having anyone here (but I know that won’t last for long).
I’ve had such a travel bug since our May trips. I really want to head out and see more of the world…particularly beaches! But that’s going to have to wait until I’m working again. If the weather stays nice this weekend, I’m going to take my aunt to Zandvoort. If it rains… you can probably find us shopping and/or eating.
I also just finished week 1 of BBG, and I am SORE! As a former athlete, I’m used to working out and working out hard, but these hiit workouts are so brutal. All in 28 minutes! Guess it proves how out of shape I am.
I told you last week that Jon and I will be going to Colorado for my friend’s wedding in August, and I just got all the info for dresses, shoes, etc. I am SO excited! We get a little bit of free reign with our dresses, so I’m excited to start doing some research. Nothing I love more than formal shopping!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: WEEK 4
Since I have been on a shopping-freeze lately (my worst nightmare), I’ve created a list of items that I “need” to shop for. I have to be a little more strategic since I can’t just pop into Zara and pick up whatever I fancy at the moment.
A long-line cardigan in oatmeal. I think I want something with a length similar to this, but I also like the idea of something super chunky. By the way Banana Republic is still doing 40% select items and 40% off sale (no code needed). I miss their sales because they’re always SO good.
A really great white shirt. I used to have one that I loved (and wasn’t startchy), but I really like this fit.
One of what I call the “blogger dress,” since everyone seems to have something similar.
Did you know it’s peony season? I didn’t know there was anything other than tulip season here, but I saw this pop-up shop on Instagram and I’m dying. They’re so pretty! I didn’t get to go to the shop before it closed, but I did pick up some pretty peonies from my flower guy on Albert Cuyp.
Jon and I saw Deadpool 2 on Wednesday when we had date night. I honestly wasn’t blown away. I thought it was good but the humor was pretty expected. The first one was so hilarious, I guess it was hard to top. Have any of you seen it?
I’ve been getting lots of comments lately on my Dolce Vita sandals. My mom picked them up for me from DSW in the states, and they’re my favorite shoes. I even wear them to the grocery. Extra is basically my middle name.
I recently read this article in Self Magazine written by Meryl Davis. She talks about life after winning the Olympics. It was really amazing to read something that sounds so much like how I felt after quitting. I imagine this could apply to any athlete who spends every day training and then suddenly doesn’t.
For my fellow bloggers out there, I’ve been really feeling like my growth is in a rut, so I’ve been listening to the Influencer Podcast by Julie Solomon. She’s a really great positive voice who talks about all of the things no one wants to say when it comes to growth, negotiations, and branding.
Jon did a big Amazon order while he was back in NY, and I had him restock up on my Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. This stuff is a miracle worker on blemishes.
Speaking of skincare, I’m restocking these products that have changed my life. Best part is they’re so cheap!
