T.G.I.F! We did it! Did this week feel especially long to anyone else? Despite being on vacation for the first day of it… I would really kill to be back in Croatia right now. I have to say that it’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. The water was SO BLUE. And so calm. I’m not very good with big waves, so I felt super comfortable jumping into this water because I wasn’t going to get plowed under. All I want to do is go back to chilling on the rocks, which makes it that much harder to deal with reality.
This week I’ve been trying to get back on track with the blog and life. I’ve spent a good deal of time applying to jobs, writing posts for the upcoming weeks, and figuring out what it means to start my own business in the Netherlands. In order to start doing freelance work, I have to register as a one-man business here. I spent yesterday reading up on what that means. I have to say it feels very adult (if not a bit overwhelming)!
I’ve found myself really missing New York this week. Probably because everyone left me on Tuesday, and that’s where they went. Plus I’ve been feeling pretty stressed out about my job situation, and I remember what it was like to work in New York. Plus I just love that city so much. I’m definitely going to need to plan a trip out there once I’m working again. Have any of you moved and felt incredibly nostalgic for the place you left? I felt this way about Colorado when I first moved to New York. It did eventually pass once I settled into life in NY. I don’t know if this one will pass, since I loved New York so much.
Anyway, I’ve made some plans for this weekend, including a boxing class, coffee with an old roommate from college, and drinks with an old colleague. It’s been nice to relax this week, but after being alone for a few days, I’m ready to be social again. What are your weekend plans?
Check out today’s Friday Favorites below, and give me a shout if you have any suggestions that I should check out for next week’s post.

FRIDAY FAVORITES: WEEK 3
My website had a little hiccup and was down for about 45 minutes yesterday. This always stresses me out so much because I know next to nothing about coding or websites. Someday I’d like to have someone who can help me with that, but until then, I’m on my own. Anyone have any suggestions for free online coding courses? I think it’s time I learn some basics.
I finished 13 Reasons Why Season 2 this week. They really love to include dramatic and graphic scenes in the last episode. I won’t spoil it for you guys if you haven’t seen it, but I had to pause the episode and read some articles on it like (spoiler alert!) this and this. It was shocking.
I’m running out of spin classes at my favorite spot, Rocycle, which is essentially the Dutch version of Soul Cycle. Since I’m on a very strict budget until I get back to work, I’m thinking about starting Kayla Itsines’ BBG program again. I did it over a year ago and liked it a lot. It’s really hard, but effective. Do any of you do BBG?
All I want right now is to go to NY and have a Banana Republic shopping spree. This store has become my favorite, and I’m currently obsessed with this skirt (stripes AND ruffles!), this dress (perfect for work or play), and this bucket bag. Plus they’re having a 40% sale online on select items until Monday. Someone buy this jumpsuit and tell me how much you love it so I can live vicariously through you.
As you may know, I’ve worked with HUM Nutrition before. They’re my favorite vitamin brand. I’m excited to be doing a giveaway with them next week, so keep your eyes on my Instagram.
My hair has been super dry from the sun and salt water last weekend, so I’m using this deep conditioner.
This body scrub from another of my favorite American stores, Bath & Body Works, leaves your skin SO soft.
Wednesday I shared a bunch of swimsuits for summer 2018 that I’m loving. Go check it out because there are some CUTE styles.
Is anyone else terrible about buying themselves new workout clothes? I’d so much rather spend my money on a cute dress. I am having Jon get me these spin-specific leggings from Nike, though. I’ll let you guys know what I think!
Jon and I are finally booking our trip to Denver this summer. I’m in one of my best friend’s weddings, but we’ll also be seeing my parents for a few days. Jon and I met in CO and lived there for three years, so we’re super excited to visit some of our favorite spots. We’ll definitely be getting the kale chips from Kitchen Next Door. I’ll make sure to do a blog post after we go with all our favorite haunts.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Athleta leggings (they no longer have this pair with the lace up details, but similar pair here without the detail) | Similar Athleta grey tank | Nike Epic React sneakers (these are like walking on air!)
