Happy Friday, friends! We had some crazy warm days here in Amsterdam this week (70’s in October!). Thankfully I can report that there is an appropriately fall chill in the air today. Which is good because I’ve got a ton of apple cider sitting in my fridge just waiting to be heated up.
Jon and I went apple picking last weekend with friends at De Olmenhorst. Although it was almost 80 degrees, we had so much fun picking apples and eating Dutch apple pie. We even found a pumpkin stand and brought pumpkins home.
In the Netherlands, they don’t have pumpkin patches. And since Halloween and Thanksgiving aren’t really celebrated, you can’t find carving pumpkins at the grocery. But we were so excited to find that you can buy pumpkins at these little stands out in the country. I got four or five pumpkins for €3! You just leave the money in a can. Only in the Netherlands would they do things by honor system.
I also officially started spin teacher training this week. Yesterday was my first two hour training session. I’m so excited to become a teacher, but I also have so much work to do. I need to work on my breathing and endurance so I don’t sound out of breath on the mike.
I don’t have a lot of plans this weekend, but I will be watching Jon run the Amsterdam Half Marathon on Sunday. What are your weekend plans?
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: WEEK 22 & 23
Jon and I have almost finished watching Maniac on Netflix. It’s a bit depressing for Jon’s taste, but I find it both a little weird and very interesting.
Speaking of Netflix shows, The Good Place is airing new episodes weekly. If you want something kind of silly and easy to watch, this is it.
I recently fell in love with this image on Pinterest. I’ve been trying to spend more time gathering inspiration from Pinterest instead of Instagram. There’s so much more creativity there. But this image really made me want sequin flare pants. Totally impractical, but I did find this pair…
Have you figured out your Halloween costume yet? I shared five chic Halloween costumes in this post, and I’m honestly so in love with each of them.
I picked up this grey turtleneck from the new Amsterdam Uniqlo, and it’s quickly become my favorite.
If you’re a blogger and listen to The Influencer Podcast, this episode with Elizabeth Rider is so wonderfully inspiring and uplifting. Highly recommend.
One of the things I miss about the states this time of year is making pumpkin spice lattes at home. This syrup is literally the most amazing thing to add to your coffee in the mornings. If you’re in the states, it’s a total necessity.
I’m heading to New York in a few weeks, and I’m so excited to see this show with my girlfriends.
I finally bought my white boots from Mango, but it’s been too warm to wear them. They’ve been selling out as soon as they’re restocked, but I did find this similar pair available.
Bryce Vine played a concert in Amsterdam this week, and he was so good live. If you don’t know who he is, check out this song ASAP.
