How is it that this week felt so long even though I was on vacation for the first half of it? These kinds of weeks are supposed to fly by, but I’ve been struggling to make it through. Maybe my body is retaliating since I’m making it work and think again.
The good news, though, is it’s finally October! This month is my favorite because I love fall and Halloween. Even though Halloween isn’t very big here, I can’t keep myself from going all out. This year, I’m going to Soho House for their Halloween party with my girlfriends. I can’t wait. No reveals on what I’m going to dress up as yet, but I’ll let you know that I’m going with a classic.
This weekend, I’m auditioning to be a spin instructor at a local cycling studio. At first, I didn’t want to say anything in case it didn’t come to fruition. But the truth is that sometimes things don’t work out, and I want to be candid about what’s happening in my life.
I recently read that there are only about 90 days left in the year. Probably less now. Which means it’s a great time to focus on a few goals you want to accomplish before the year is up. Maybe revisit those New Year’s resolutions you made. I know that means I need to focus on my goal of becoming a morning person. It recently started getting darker here which has made mornings so much harder already!
What are you hoping to accomplish before the year is up?
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: WEEK 21
Still lusting after these white boots from Mango. I keep posting them, which must mean I really love them. I just got paid, so I’m going to get them this weekend!
If I didn’t already have a flat pair, I’d totally get these white moto boots. They’re so amazing.
The New York Public Library is doing the coolest thing with their IG stories lately. They’re posting “Insta Novels” or short stories for you to read. I read The Yellow Wallpaper on the train to work yesterday. Such a smart use of the stories function.
For some reason I’ve been super lucky lately. I won this incredible bike from a Vogue NL event, and I found out the other day that I won a Banana Republic gift card. It’s one of my favorite stores, and I can’t wait to shop while in NY next month. Already have my eye on this and this.
My favorite loafers that I own in two colors are available in leopard. So on trend for fall!
I reread The Paris Wife before our trip to France. It’s about Ernest Hemingway’s first wife. It was so inspiring while in Antibes because the characters had stayed there in real life.
I wore a white turtleneck on stories the other day that a lot of you asked about. It’s from H&M last year, but there’s a similar version available this year. This one from Shein is also very similar.
I already have a leopard skirt, but the pattern is having such a moment. Absolutely dying over these cropped pants.
The October chill in the air had me thinking about sweater weather. This one hits on two of the biggest fall trends – brown and checks.
That also means I’m lusting after new coats like this one. Jon will argue differently, but maybe if I clean out the coat closet this weekend I can sneak another one in there.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Sweater is old H&M, similar ones here and here | J. Crew factory jeans | Loavies boots are sold out, similar here and here)
