It’s Friday again, and I’m back in Amsterdam after a lovely week in Colorado. I took some good time to relax, which is why you haven’t seen any blog posts this week. It was actually really nice to disconnect and not stress about posting and creating content all week. But I’m back at it now!
The best part of this past week was definitely seeing one of my closest friends get married. She had the most beautiful wedding in the mountains. The backdrop was so unreal that we were all joking it had to be a green screen. And of course, Mauri looked absolutely stunning. There may have been a few tears shed.
I also got to spend a few wonderful days with my parents in Colorado Springs. It was funny to be back, since that is where I lived when I was training for ice dance and where I met Jon. Not much had changed in the Springs itself, but so much has changed in our lives that it felt very different to be back.
What didn’t feel different was how difficult the Manitou Incline was. It had been 6 years (!!) since I did it last, but Jon convinced me to do it again. I’m glad I did. It’s a mile of stairs up the mountain, and something like 2,000 feet in elevation change. It was so hard, and I hated it as much as the first time I did it. But truth is that I’m proud of myself for completing it in about an hour!
Now I’m back in Amsterdam and back to the real world. Although to be fair I jet off to Antwerp for Britney Spears next week, so that’s still not totally real world.
How was your week?
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: WEEK 12 & 13
While in the states, I made sure to pick up some of the beauty items that I can’t get in Amsterdam. Number one is my Tarte eyebrow pencil. I’ve never found anything that works this well and stays put all day.
I also picked up this candle and this lotion because, y’all, it’s almost FALL!
This sweater, this sweater, and this jacket have me so excited for fall. The temperature in Amsterdam is in the high 60’s today, and even though I know fall isn’t here yet, I’m happy it’s a little chillier.
Speaking of fall, I’m already getting excited for boots. These have me excited that Western wear isn’t going anywhere this year. And these have me happy that OTN boots are still going to be a thing too.
I couldn’t spend time in the states and not hit up Banana Republic. Thanks to a gift card from my aunt and a great sale, I picked up this tank, these jeans (obsessed with them!) and these loafers in red AND silver since they were both so on sale. That’s one of my favorite things about Banana. They always have the best sales!
The wedding I was in was at Devil’s Thumb Ranch just passed Winter Park. It was seriously the most gorgeous place, and I can totally imagine spending time there riding horses, sitting by the fire, and visiting the spa. I will admit that it comes with a price tag to match the luxury, so this will be a dream I’ll hang on to for when I’ve got a bigger travel budget.
This dress is the one I wore as a bridesmaid, and I was so happy about it. Both because it was so flattering and because it was under $100!
I picked up this book at the airport last week, and it’s turned out to be really good. It was a bit slow to start for me, but I’m about 20 pages to the end and could barely put it down to get through this day. I can’t wait to see how it ends! It’s a story about the disappearance of a wife and mother and how her family deals with her disappearance. Which might not be what everyone originally thought.
Also, no joke, but I watched this movie on the plane. Even though it’s about a bunch of old ladies, I thought it was quite entertaining!
