Happy Friday, babes! I don’t know how it’s been for y’all, but Amsterdam has been HOT this week. Today the temps are supposed to reach 99! I know for a fact it doesn’t get that hot here, like ever, so everyone is just melting in their un-air conditioned apartments. Last night was one of the hottest nights on record in many years. Try and tell me global warming isn’t a thing…
It’s been a super busy work week for me, but with this heat I might need to jump in the canals this afternoon out of necessity. Apparently there are actually a few areas where you can actually swim in them!
I’m going to see Mamma Mia 2 with one of my girl friends tonight. I’m excited to see it because I’ve heard it’s good, but I’m also really looking forward to two hours in the air conditioning.
I spent a lot of this week rushing around getting things in order for my freelance business and for our trip to Colorado. My flight on Tuesday, and I am so excited! I’m going to get some of my favorite meals, get some mountain time, and most importantly, see one of my closest friends get MARRIED!
I’m really happy that I’ve finally gotten things up for my freelance business, so I can start working again. It’s been too long in my opinion. I’m also excited for some new opportunities that may be opening up. More on that soon!
I hope that you guys have had a good week! And wherever you are, I hope the heat isn’t too bad (or that it will be cooling down soon). Who else is ready for fall already?
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: WEEK 11
I had picked up a wrap dress two weeks ago from Asos, and unfortunately it was so small. I ended up returning it and getting this one instead. And I’m happy to report that it’s super cute! I’m actually thinking of wearing it for a shoot while in CO.
My Poshmark closet is temporarily back up and running. I’m selling some items this weekend (ends Jul 30th) that I will be bringing with me to Colorado to ship on the 1st or 2nd. It goes through USPS, so you’ll have it within 1 – 3 days after I ship. If you’re interested in shopping, go here.
This book was recommended to me multiple times by you guys in IG stories. I asked for some reccos for books and podcasts for my flight to Denver, and you did not disappoint.
I found out earlier this week that my favorite spin studio, Rocycle, is opening a location around the corner from our apartment. This area is becoming so convenient, I’m afraid I’m never going to leave a three block radius!
I got my hair colored and cut this week at Renae Zechner’s, and I’m super happy. I started going to this salon because they’re super reasonably priced. And the owner is the cutest Australian woman.
As we always do when we’re going to be together, my mom picked up some shoes for me from DSW. I got this pair because I’ve talking about white mules forever and this pair because they’re Chanel dupes.
Thanks to Leandra Medine of one of my favorite websites, Manrepeller, I now know about Re-see. It’s a vintage store in Paris that sells online. I can’t afford any of it right now, but I can dream. Especially when I saw a Birkin on there for only 6,800EUR! If you know about Birkins, that’s a steal! They also have the most amazing vintage designer coats. One day…
I put on self tanner yesterday, but it’s already coming off because I’ve been sweating. Didn’t think that one through. Looks like I’ll be doing another Tan Towel application as soon as it gets cool again.
I’ve been using Jon’s water bottle from Simple Modern in this heat, and guys it keeps my water so cold! I’ve had ice in there for over an hour and it hasn’t melted. A straight miracle!
I also want to leave you with a silly little thing about the Dutch that I’ve noticed in this heat because it makes me smile. They LOVE ice cream! It’s not uncommon to see a grown man walking down the street by himself and eating an ice cream cone. No idea how they all keep these slim figures if they’re eating so much ice cream, but it makes me laugh every time I see it.
