Happy Friday, friends! The sun is shining into our home right now after another very long week. Yesterday on Instagram I was chatting with you all about stress and the twitch I’ve been having in my left eye. As a freelancer, you usually get brought in to work on teams that have a lot of work and crazy deadlines. I’ve been thinking about work 24/7 and am looking forward to trying to disconnect this weekend.
We are coming up on one year since our first lockdown here in the Netherlands. I’ve been struggling a bit to deal with that. The list of things I miss is getting so long. What I’d give to go out to eat or have more than 2 friends over. And don’t even get me started on travel now that the weather is getting nicer.
At least salons are open again. My birthday is at the end of the month, and I have both hair and nail appointments booked. I’ve also booked a beach house in the south of Holland for my birthday weekend. It’s not a big trip, but we can take Jolene and enjoy a change of scenery for a few days.
How are things where you are? Are you feeling the year of lockdown like I am?
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 4, WEEK 9
No link for this one, but I shared some tulips on my Instagram feed yesterday and wanted to share a tip with you. To keep them from drooping, put them in cold water as soon as you get home. Leave them wrapped in the plastic or paper for 30 minutes before cutting them and arranging them in the vase. It’s a tip my Dutch flower seller told me, and it makes a huge difference!
Picked up these jeans (EU) and this summer dress (EU) from my favorite French brand, Sézane. I’ve been picking up more dresses and holding onto them for the day things get warm.
I recently bought this basket (not on the US site, but I love this one) to store Jolene’s toys. H&M Home (EU) has some surprisingly good items, and here in Amsterdam they’re doing next day delivery with Budbee which has been a great experience.
Contemplating treating myself to this bag for my birthday. I just can’t decide between the medium and large. One’s a true tote bag, and one is a bit smaller.
Been reading this classic book lately. I haven’t read it since I was in school. It’s really interesting to revisit, especially as an adult and having traveled more.
