It’s Fridayyy! And I’ve officially made it through my first work week as a dog mom! We adopted adorable little Jolene last weekend, and she’s been bringing so much light to this dark lockdown period. If you want to read more about her adoption, you can do so in this post.
Besides the new puppy, there’s the prospect of skating on the canals that has made this week brighter. The temps in the Netherlands have been below freezing since it snowed last weekend. The snow has stuck around and the city has blocked off the canals to encourage ice to form.
As I write this, I can see my canal frozen over outside. I’m just hoping the ice gets thick enough to skate on tomorrow before them temps rise again. Skating on the canals is such an incredible experience. I got to do it in 2018, and I’m looking forward to doing it again. Yesterday I at least got to sneak in some ice time on a pond at the park at least!
Other than getting to skate and taking Jojo out for walks, life has been more of the same. The Netherlands lockdown has been extended until March 3rd, so that’s where we are at!
