Friday Favorites: Round 4, Week 13

It’s been a hot second since I’ve written Friday Favorites, and I’m sorry about that. Life has been a bit overwhelming lately. The past few weeks I’ve felt like I don’t have the mental capacity to do all the things that I need to do. Jolene has been in dog school three mornings a week, so I’m lucky if I get one other thing done on those days. Unfortunately I’ve also been letting my workout schedule get lax, which I hate. But dog school wraps up after another week, so I’m hoping to have a little more time.

Last weekend, Jon and I took a few extra days to spend at one of the Dutch beaches with another couple. It was very cold with 28mph winds, so we spent most of our time inside. Even so, it was really refreshing to get away and have some true time off. I don’t know about you guys, but taking time off and staying at home just doesn’t cut it. I usually find myself thinking about work even if I’m off.

We returned to Amsterdam on Monday morning and were greeted with some fantastic weather. For the first few days of this week it was sunny and in the 60s or 70s. Yesterday, I spent an hour at lunchtime working on the patio in the sun. It felt so nice. The weather is supposed to turn and get cold and rainy again this weekend, naturally. But I’m glad I was able to enjoy the nice weather while we had it.

We have a couple coming over for drinks on Saturday, and I’m looking forward to being able to have them over for an extra hour since curfew has been extended until 10pm. How are things where you are? Can you get together with friends?

FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 4, WEEK 13

I did a little in-store shopping the other week and picked up this top (EU), this dress (EU), and this jacket (EU) from Zara.

My friend, Mercedes, just lent me this book (EU) to read. I haven’t had a chance to start it yet, but I’ve heard great things.

I recently started following this Instagram account. It celebrates the street style of Chinatown’s seniors and is so insanely joyful, something we need during these hate-filled times.

My birthday was last week, and I treated myself to these sandals (EU). I’ve been dreaming about them for a few years and finally did it. I’ll share an unboxing video on Instagram next week.

Recently revisited this post from one of my favorite blogs. Even though she wrote this in 2019, a lot of those feelings are applicable right now with lockdown. It was refreshing to revisit and recognize a lot of the feelings that many of us are having right now.

This pair of boots (EU) just arrived from my favorite French brand. I’ve had my eye on them for a few weeks and am so glad I bought them. If you’re between sizes, size down. Otherwise, go with your regular size for these.

My favorite sunglasses brand is doing 20% off two or more items right now. This pair is my all time favorite (I have it in two colors). I’m also contemplating picking up this pink pair.
