Hi friends! We’ve made it through the first week of 2021 (although not without a fair amount of chaos). This is my first Friday Favorites post if the year. I can hardly believe I’ve already done three years of these posts. For those of you who are new around here, on Fridays I share a blog post with life updates plus links to all the best finds of the week.
We all know this week has been another crazy one with the capitol coup. Jon and I stayed up late Wednesday night watching it all unfold in horror. So many of us are rightfully angry and frustrated at our fellow Americans for this act of treason. It’s a scary time.
If there’s anything we learned from 2020, it’s the importance of self care during these times. Whether that means taking a break from social media, disconnecting with a good book or sleeping in. I did the last one this morning and don’t regret it at all.
This week has also been exhausting with the return to work. I’m back on my 12-8p freelance schedule, which took a little adjustment after a week+ of extreme laziness. I’ve also had a rough headache all week, which I’m pretty sure is from sugar withdrawals. Not traveling or having things to do over the holidays meant I baked (and ate) a lot more than normal. My body is super sensitive to change and hasn’t been very happy about returning to my usual healthy diet. In keeping with the self-care theme this week, I haven’t been doing many workouts. Sometimes you have to listen to your body and take it easy.
As we start of this first week of Friday Favorites, I’d love to know more about you and how you’re doing. Leave a comment below this post and let’s connect!
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 4, WEEK 1
Haven’t shopped at Zara in ages because I can’t be bothered to dig through the store and their website isn’t my favorite. But I did pick up these rubber boots (EU) lately that are very on trend.
Since the end of 2020, I’ve slowly been getting into running (something I swore I’d never do). These shoes (EU) have the perfect amount of support and cushion. And this app has been helping me track my progress.
Just restocked this serum (EU) and this serum (EU) to help combat dry winter skin.
If you haven’t heard, this show is everyone’s favorite show on Netflix right now. It’s like a crossover between Pride & Prejudice and Gossip Girl.
Jon and I have also been watching this show on HBO. We were looking for something we hadn’t seen over the break and have ended up hooked.
Shared this beauty tool (EU) on stories this week. It’s a microcurrent facial tool that lifts and tones immediately. I’m using it for the full two months and will be writing a review, so keep an eye out!
For those of you asking for tips on expat life recently, this post is a great look into whether it’s worth it!
These houndstooth pants (EU) were a hit on Instagram this week and rightfully so! They’re from my favorite French brand and are great quality. Size up if you’re between sizes.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
H&M coat (EU) | Mango scarf on sale! (EU on sale too!) | Asos boots (EU)
