Whew. Anyone else feel like this week has been SO long? I swear since Monday I’ve mentally been ahead by one day. It’s felt like an 8 day week already. I’m very happy to see the weekend even if there isn’t much we can do here in Amsterdam. The covid cases in Europe have been increasing, so most countries are going back into partial lockdowns.
This week they closed all the bars, restaurants, and cafes in Amsterdam. We can still order takeout and delivery, but otherwise, the city is pretty quiet. Another part of the partial lockdown is that alcohol sales have been limited to before 8pm. I think this is smart, as we’ve seen a lot of people getting drunk and hanging around in groups outside or going to friends’ houses after the bars close at 10pm.
These measures are in effects for at least two weeks, but most likely four. Gyms are still open, but I personally feel pretty weird about most workouts. Amsterdam is requiring masks be worn indoors now, but gyms are allowing people not to wear them for the duration of their workout. Seems counterintuitive to me.
I have to say even without any weekend plans, I’m happy to see this week wrap up. With everything going on in the world, I’ve been feeling a lot more stress (as I’m sure we all are). I had three migraines this week, which I know have been caused by extra stress. I’m also overdue for another round of Botox, which has made such a huge difference in my migraines.
I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend. Please do something on my behalf and send book and TV recommendations my way for this partial lockdown!
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 3, WEEK 39 & 40
Just picked up this midi length sweater dress (EU). I’ve been working from home for a few years now, and sweater dresses are one of my favorite things to wear. They’re comfy AF but also look put together. Win win!
I found some old gift cards from Vero Moda last week and used them toward this sweater (EU only). It’s the perfect oversized fit and not a crazy heavy knit. So cozy.
Added this necklace (EU) to my daily stack recently. I’m obsessed with Sézane jewelry because it’s both high quality and très chic. I’ve worn this necklace (EU) every day for like two years, and it hasn’t tarnished.
Jon and I finished Schitt’s Creek earlier this week. The show is SO good. Last night we watched their after-the-show special, and it was so heartwarming.
Going to make more apple cider this weekend. Traditional American apple cider isn’t available in Europe, and it’s one of my favorite things about fall. I’ve made some with this recipe. Although lately, I’m cutting corners by using appelsap troebel (unfiltered apple juice) and simmering it with spices. It actually works pretty well!
These eye gels (EU) have been a lifesaver for my tired eyes lately. I love throwing them on while catching up on my favorite shows before bed. They pair perfectly with my favorite nighttime tea (EU).

If you like comedy I recommend Chelsea Handler’s books – the earlier ones are pretty funny! I’m currently reading her most recent one 🙂
