I’m always happy to see Friday come around, but this week I’m especially excited. Tomorrow Jon and I leave for Sicily! We both had booked time off for this week with the original intention of going to Greece. As you know, things this year change on a dime. Greece became orange a few weeks ago along with Spain and all the good parts of France.
Travel has been one of our favorite reasons for living expat life, and this year has been so strange. I’ve never spent so much time at home/in the Netherlands. We are excited to be able to squeeze in one last trip to end this strange summer. We’ll be heading to Palermo for a few days followed by Taormina for some beach time. If you want to follow along, follow me on Instagram. I’ll be sharing lots of stories and posts!
This week has been a bit of a funny one. I woke up Monday morning feeling really sad. It’s been two and a half weeks since Chanel passed, and my heart still hurts. But I got some good work news and decided to turn my week around by focusing on the things I’m grateful for. Sometimes that can be hard to do, but this week it worked wonders. Also probably helps we’ve gotten a decent amount of sunshine.
I’m trying to keep this positive mindset going. Easy to do on vacation in Italy, but my goal is to bring it back with me too. I hope you guys are able to find something positive to hang onto this weekend. Things are weird and hard right now, but that small bit of positivity can work wonders.
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 3, WEEK 36
The sweater vest I bought recently is available in both the US and EU now! It’s such a great transitional trend. Highly recommend jumping on it. Plus it’s so comfy.
Mango is having a 50% off sale in both the US & EU. From the US store I love this dress which is great for layering, these faux leather pants, and this classic denim jacket you can wear immediately. In the EU, this denim jacket is also on sale, along with this fall floral dress, and this muscle tank in a bunch of colors.
Jon and I watched this documentary on Netflix the other night. It’s an essential watch about the power of social media over our psyche. I really enjoyed it because they spoke to all the people who had worked at Facebook/Google/Instagram to make these apps they way they are.
Don’t forget the Sézane Amsterdam popup shop goes through this Sunday, 9/20. With the code BONJOURAMSTERDAM you’ll get free shipping in the NL + a super cute gift. I bought this dress, these boots, and this sweater – all of which I’m obsessed with!
I picked up this leather midi skirt (EU) the other weekend. It’s so cute, but I learned a few key things about styling it. Find those tips and tricks in this post.
I always love listening to this podcast before we travel. Trying local wines is always part of what we do one vacation in Europe. Today I’m listening to this episode on Sicily.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Sézane dress | Sézane belt | Sézane boots (fit a little snug but will stretch since they are real leather)
