Happy Friday, my friends. Raise your hand if this week felt insanely long! Work has been nuts (in a good way) so I’ve been really busy. But I’m glad to be busy and have that structure again.
I really can’t write about my week without talking about my sweet kitty. Last Friday I got a call from my mom that she had suddenly gotten very weak and sick. They took her in to the vet and found out she’s in renal failure. Basically, her kidneys can’t perform anymore, and she’s wasting away. The vet said it’s a common way for acts to die, but it came on so suddenly. She’s only 14, and we didn’t expect it so soon.
I picked Chanel out at the shelter something like 13 years ago. It took some time for her to warm up to us (she hid under the guest bed for the first two weeks), but now she’s such an essential part of the family. My parents cared for her after I went to college and ended up taking her with them to Australia.
It’s hard not to be there for her, and I’ve been crying all week as my mom sends me updates. At this point we are just waiting for her to tell us that she’s done and doesn’t want to go on anymore.
I know that’s a really somber note for this Friday, but in all honesty it’s the only thing I can think about. It didn’t feel right to write to you all and pretend my week has been all sunshine and rainbows.
I hope you’ve all been having a better week. Tell me one of the best things about your week in the comments so we can spread more happy thoughts.
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 3, WEEK 32 & 33
I bought these boots (EU) recently. They’re so much chunkier than I expected, but I’m actually pretty excited to wear them. Sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone a little!
Read this article recently. I lived in NY before moving to Amsterdam, and a piece of my heart definitely remains there. Last year we visited so often, and I’m missing it terribly.
HBOmax has had some really good shows lately. If you’re bored of Netflix, highly recommend checking them out. We recently started this show and this show.
Found this cardigan top (EU) recently, and I’m obsessed. Especially great for this transitional time of year.
For all my friends in the Netherlands, this store sells Bath & Body Works candles! I’ve bought from them before and recently looked again. They’ve stocked tons of the classic fall scents. More expensive than the states but cheaper than international shipping.
I was talking with Jon about it this morning, and I always want my leggings to be comfortable enough to wear around the house but also good for working out. This (EU) is that pair.
Fall is settling in around here and has me so excited for fall fashion. I wrote this post about the classic fall pieces you should have in your wardrobe.
