Hello, friends! Another week down. I CANNOT believe we are already well into August. It makes me a little sad that this year has flown by so quickly. I know a lot of people say they can’t wait for 2020 to be over, but I’m feeling like it’s just starting. That’s probably because lockdown has mostly ended here, and we are finally able to do some of the things we missed out on from March – June.
I haven’t been as active over the past week or two because I had a friend in town. Jamie and I trained together for figure skating in Colorado Springs around 5 or 6 years ago. He now lives in Scotland, and we always make sure to visit each other whenever we can. Thankfully they came out of lockdown recently so he was able to come spend a week with me. We had a beautiful, sunny week so we spent time boating around the canals and dining al fresco.
Speaking of sun, Jon and I are hoping to get some in a few weeks. We’ve been talking so much about Greece, but when we went to book recently it just wasn’t going to work. I talk about post-pandemic travel in this post, and I’m feeling the effects now. There’s only one flight in and out per day, and we just couldn’t make the flight times work for us. Instead we are booked a four day weekend in Croatia. But the Dutch government recently told us not to travel to Croatia again!
Croatia was one of my favorite places we’ve visited so far (read about it in this post), and I’m really hoping we can go back. We will have to make some decisions about whether we want to wait and chance that it opens up or if we want to rebook somewhere else. I guess this is the truth about post-pandemic travel – so much uncertainty!
I have a few other life updates coming in the near future. Just can’t share them yet. Make sure you don’t miss them by subscribing to my blog (it’s on the right hand side at the top of this post!).
Have a great weekend!
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 3, WEEK 29 & 30
I asked on Instagram yesterday whether you guys are still shopping for summer or totally ready for fall. And it looks like fall it is! But before you give up 100% on summer, check out this post with summer colors to wear before the season ends.
My skin has been really dry and angry this week because our weather in Amsterdam keeps shifting. I use this facemask (EU link) weekly, and swear it’s my skin savior! Plus it warms as you put it on so it feels super luxe.
I just started reading this book that was recommended to me before our Antibes trip. It started out a little graphic, but I’m getting into it and it’s gripping!
For all my Amsterdammers, Whiteclaw is officially available in the NL! You can shop them online here. They’re also available in Jumbo stores, but they sold out super quickly. I haven’t seen a restock yet, but will let you know on stories if I do.
A lot of you don’t love the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks that all the bloggers are doing right now. But enough of you do! I’m not going to put together a full blog post, but I will drop select items I wish I could buy here. The sale opens to all cardholders on August 13th and the public on August 19th.
- These boots – Marc Fisher is my favorite for quality footwear. I bought these boots in black last year during the Nordstrom sale. This pair is the 2020 version. Highly recommend.
- This sweater – A high-quality brand and the color SCREAMS fall. It has me ready for pumpkin patches and crunchy leaves.
- This coat – The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the ultimate time to pick up a classic coat for a huge discount. I don’t need any coats this year but will definitely buy at least one in this gorgeous camel color.
- These sweatpants – They’re my absolute favorite pair – so freaking comfy. I’ve had mine for 3+ years.
- These hair products – They’re usually so pricey, but 100% worth it because they’re so good. It’s one of the few aerosol dry shampoos that doesn’t make my head itch like crazy.
- This teddy coat – Like I said, I don’t need a new coat. But omg this teddy coat is absolute perfection!
- These sneakers – This brand has been super popular, and I’ve honestly been thinking about breaking my loyalty to Nike to get a pair. The NSale is a great time to buy a pair.
- This cardigan – Normally might not have picked this, but something about this striped cardigan feels so fun for fall.
- These sunglasses – I love Quay sunglasses and am in need of a new pair. This tourtoise shell pair is absolute perfection.
- This blazer – I’m mentally planning a trip to Paris this fall and have been dreaming of a plaid blazer like this with brown boots.
As a reminder, I make a small commission on anything you buy through my links at no extra cost to you. So if you shop any of my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks, you’ll also be supporting my blog, which I majorly appreciate!
