It’s kind of blowing my mind that we’re already halfway through July. I always feel like time tends to fly by. But that’s usually because I’m so busy. This year, we sort of “lost” four months with lockdown. But it feels really good to see lockdowns ending in Europe and things opening back up.
It’s crazy to be here in Europe and watch everything unfolding in the US. It makes me so sad for everyone back home. Even though NYC has done a great job of handling covid, so much of the US is a total mess. I really hope that it’s able to get under control soon.
It makes me feel a little bad that we are traveling in Europe when the US is in such a state. Especially since the Dutch didn’t do a traditional lockdown. Jon and I stayed inside and did our part, but we saw so many people who didn’t. Yet somehow, without masks or much distancing, we’ve been able to get our numbers incredibly low. Honestly, I think it might just be luck.
Either way, I’m so grateful to return to some semblance of normal. Yesterday I went to a new workout class at Zhembrovskyy. It’s a dance-based workout class and I am SO sore today. I also have dinner tonight with my friend Mercedes, at Jansz. The Pulitzer just opened their restaurants and bar up this month, so we’re excited to check it out.
I hope you all have a good weekend, whether you’re in lockdown or able to go out like us.

FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 3, WEEK 27
I got so many compliments on this white swimsuit (EU) when we were traveling. It’s such a great price and not see-through!
If you’re looking for swimsuits, all my summer picks are in this post. So many cute options, I wish I could buy them all.
Been waiting too long to replenish this cleansing oil (EU). I swear by this stuff for removing my favorite waterproof mascara (EU). Plus the smell is perfect for winding down before bed.
A few really good shows Jon and I have been watching lately:
- Perry Mason – About a 1920s detective solving a very creepy case
- Unsolved Mysteries – A reboot of the class 80’s show. Each episode is a different unsolved mystery. Episode three is especially insane.
- I’ll Be Gone in the Dark – I read this book a few years ago, and HBO has made a series out of it. It’s about the Golden State Killer and a crime blogger’s search for him.
Obsessed with this dress (EU) but not sure I can justify it considering it’s been 60 and rainy in Amsterdam lately. If you’re in a warmer climate please buy it so I can live vicariously through you!
I’m keeping an eye on H&M for this dress, since it’s only been available in the EU so far. Until then, they’ve got so many other great dresses right now. I love this one (EU), this one, and this one which I have in white (EU).
Read this article yesterday which was extremely helpful for working towards allyship and anti-racism, especially if you have POC friends. It’s an excerpt from this book.
