Happy Friday and Happy Memorial Day weekend to all my US readers. Aren’t holidays freaking weird during this time? All of the holidays here in the Netherlands fall between April and June. We had one this Thursday (don’t ask me what it was for!) and our last one is June 1st. It’s been strange to “celebrate” without actually being able to do anything.
This week has been filled primarily with weak attempts at productivity, lots of Netflix and lots of sleep. I’ve been keeping an eye on the news every day to find out when we can travel again. Our number one reason for living in the Netherlands is the access to travel. While I recognize how lucky I am to be able to stay home safely, I’m feeling a little lost without travel.
In the Netherlands, they’ll be making a statement on travel June 15. It looks like a few countries, like Italy and Greece, are trying to open in June. We most likely won’t be traveling until July, but I’m VERY hopeful for at least one summer trip.
Restaurants open June 1st here in the NL, and I’m very curious to see how it goes. The Dutch haven’t been doing the best job of social distancing, so it’ll be interesting to see if they can handle open restaurants. I’m just praying the numbers don’t go up after that.
There’s so much to think about right now, so I’m focusing on the little things. I picked up some flowers and fresh salmon at the market this morning. What little things have been keeping you going?
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 3, WEEK 19
I just finished this book which I really enjoyed. I’ve been doing Kindle Unlimited since lockdown so I can read as much as I want. Unfortunately they don’t always have the best titles. But this one had me tearing up at the end.
These sneakers are going to be the hot pair for summer. Ordering mine this weekend!
Linking the floral version of my current favorite dress. It’s so easy for wearing around the house. Plus it’s only $20.
These white pointed-toe mules are really similar to my go-to pair. They go with everything from jeans to dresses.
Andddd sharing a few of my favorites from the Memorial Day sales if you’re planning to do some shopping this weekend. As a reminder, I use affiliate links which means I will get a very small commission (at no cost to you!) if you shop through my links. I appreciate your support!
Mango is doing 30% off everything all weekend long. I’m eyeing this easy yellow dress, this pretty white top, and these longer denim shorts.
Banana Republic is up to 75% off everything (heck yes!). Makes me wish I could get it delivered to the NL. Check out this eyelet dress, this linen jumpsuit, and the my favorite classic denim shorts.
Asos is doing up to 50% off. I love this tropical swimsuit, these adorable espadrilles, and this broderie mini dress.
Nordstrom has a great updated sale selection for the Memorial Day sales. I particularly like these wedges, this off-the-shoulder top, and this Reformation top.
