It’s funny. I kind of feel like these Friday Favorites posts are becoming a bit of a weekly coronavirus diary. Considering there isn’t much else going on in life right now. Life right now is all starting to blend together. The days are so similar I can’t remember when I did certain things.
We had a day off for Easter Monday this week. It was nice to have another day to not think about work, but it was also really weird. It felt like some sort of semi-holiday. There was this positive feeling of celebration, but there was literally nothing to do.
Having that holiday weirdness threw me into a bit of a funk. I’ve been on a rollercoaster of highs and lows throughout this whole thing. And speaking to some of you, I know I’m not the only one. I’m trying to be accepting of those emotions. I wrote this post on self care this week and have been working hard to find ways to implement in my day to day.
As I’m writing this a notification popped up on my phone that my brother was supposed to be in town today for tulip season. It makes me sad how much the world has changed. These next two weeks were supposed to be the busiest of the year. Now they’re some of the slowest.
But I’m working really hard to embrace that slowness. I’ve always thrived off being insanely busy, so it’s a challenge. Tonight I think I’ll color in my new coloring book and pour myself a glass of wine.
How are you holding up? Losing your mind yet?
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 3, WEEK 14
I read this article yesterday that really sums up exactly how I’ve been feeling about life right now. It’s a really good read and will make you realize you’re not the only one feeling this way.
Bought a new phone yesterday. I’ve had my iphone 7 for like 3+ years, so it’s about time. Although it’s a bit weird ordering a new phone on the internet instead of in store. I’m most excited about that awesome new camera.
My white sneakers have seen better days. I’m between this pair or getting a fresh pair of last year’s sneakers for summer 2020.
Been reading this book for the past few weeks. I’ve been having a hard time focusing, but it’s really interesting. It’s about the L’Oreal family and a bunch of drama surrounding the heiress and a man who may or may not be swindling her out of more than $32 million in gifts.
I wore these Chanel dupes around the house for like 30 mins last week. They’re so cute and look so similar to the real deal.
Got hit with an Instagram ad for a new Essie shade. It’s a matte version of the classic light pink, Ballet Slippers. Not sure if I can find it in the NL yet, but I’m on the lookout. You can find it in the US here.
I really wanted to buy one of these swimsuits for summer this year. They don’t deliver to the NL, so I was hoping to pick it up when I was in NYC in June. Unfortunately that won’t happen, so I’m going to have to look elsewhere for a great swimsuit. Any suggestions?
