They always say to be careful what you wish for. I wished for summer weather, and we got S.U.M.M.E.R. here in Amsterdam this week. In fact, it’s been so hot that the trains aren’t running, and everyone is doing whatever they can to get to air conditioning. The funny thing is that these temperatures were normal when I was growing up in Texas. But without AC and without preparation, they can be brutal.
If you read last week’s post, you know I had a really rough time. My time teaching spin came to an abrupt end, and it was hard to deal with. But life has a funny way of working things out. After spending the weekend with Jon and working through my feelings, I felt such a weight lifted off my shoulders. It’s the first time I’ve felt this light and positive in a while.
This week was also a great one because Jon’s brother returned from his deployment in Afghanistan. We are heading back to the states next weekend to see him and his family and then work in the city.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend planned. It’s supposed to be rainy tomorrow in Amsterdam, which is fine because it’ll bring the heat down. But hoping Sunday is beautiful enough to spend some time outside.
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 2, WEEK 27
Still can’t believe how brands haven’t figured out that things like this are not ok. Thankfully I haven’t shopped at Forever21 in years.
I just added a few things to my regimen for acne. Obsessed with this 10-minute potent mask.
I wasn’t planning to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this summer, but then I saw this pair of boots. I’ve been needing to replace my current ones, so I caved and had them shipped to my office in NY.
Speaking of New York, Jon and I are headed there next week to visit family and work from the city. I’ll definitely be visiting some of my favorite restaurants from this list.
This tank is so good, I bought it in two colors. And shared a post about it here.
Found this playlist while working the other day and cannot stop listening. The throwbacks are just tooooo good.
Found myself wearing this maxi skirt the other day, and I’m in love. I was worried it would feel overdressed (especially for summer), but with the right top it actually feels effortlessly chic.
