Anyone else having a hard time with the fact that we’re almost halfway through July? I’m especially struggling here in Amsterdam because the weather has felt like fall – chilly and rainy. In fact, I’ve been wearing sweatshirts and pants the past few days.
I don’t think I’ve ever talked about the weather as much as I have since moving to the Netherlands. But others who live here totally get it. The winters are so rainy and miserably dark that you start to wonder why you live here. Last year our summer was so warm and sunny that it made up for it. This year… not so much.
This week has felt so insanely long, so I’m happy that it’s finally Friday. Bloomeffects is launching in a few months, so I’ve been so so busy with work. And on top of that, teaching spin four or five times a week. I’ll actually be teaching a few times over the weekend, too. I love teaching, but sometimes it’s hard to not feel like I’m “always working.”
No real plans for this weekend. In just a few weeks I’ll be back in New York again, so it’s nice to have a few chill weekends at home.
Did this week drag by for you? Any fun weekend plans or will you be taking it easy too? Let me know in the comments. I always like to know what my readers are up to!
Xx, Kelsey
FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 2, WEEK 25
My ultimate guide to Paris is up in this post. It’s my favorite city, and I’m so glad to finally be able to write such an extensive post sharing all the best places.
The Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale is starting soon. I’m not sure if I’ll be shopping it (might buy a few things to pick up when I’m back in NY). These pants have totally caught my eye.
I just started reading this book. TBD how much I like it!
For my Amsterdam readers, I tried out a new (to me) Mexican place last weekend. It’s called Flora. Margs were a bit on the sweet side, but the corn tacos were quite good. No chips and guac, so it’s more of a fusion place.
Since summer in nowhere to be found in the Netherlands, I’ve been pinning summer inspiration like crazy. Visit my summer Pinterest board for all the sunshine and warm weather feels.
I wore this tank in Paris (borrowed from Kim), and fell so in love with it that I bought it in two colors. It’s such a good basic with a little flare.
Planning to purchase this straw hat. My last one got ruined in Portugal, so I’m in need of a new one.
Really loving cute swingy dresses like this. Here’s hoping it warms up a bit here in Amsterdam so I can actually wear them.
I studied advertising and worked in it for several years before transitioning to beauty. This ad in the Netherlands has me so angry.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Mango polka dot dress | Similar shoes | Quay sunglasses (I’m so obsessed with this pair, I can’t stop wearing them)
