It’s the second week of January and I feel like the month is both creeping by and speeding by at the same time. Part of me can’t believe that it’s already the 11th. And then I look outside at another grey, rainy day and the Christmas lights that were officially turned off last night, and I can’t wait until this month is over.
January and February are by far the two hardest months to live in the Netherlands. But lately when I catch myself complaining, I remind myself that I live in ANOTHER COUNTRY. I’m so incredibly lucky for that. Even if the weather sucks right now.
This week was my first full week back into the swing of things, as I’m sure it was for you too. I don’t know how, but it feels busier than it did before the holidays. Probably because I’m teaching seven spin classes a week on top of my regular work schedule. I also have to admit that shooting photos for the blog has been stressful as of late. It’s always so hard to schedule when you have to arrange with another person and deal with the nearly constant Dutch rain.
But despite a stressful first week back, I have Florida to look forward to in just two weeks. My mom called last night to plan our visit to Disney World, and it’s getting me so excited. Plus I just ordered some cute dress options for the wedding we’re attending. That’s always exciting.
Did you have a stressful first full week after the holidays? Raise your hand if January is the worst month!

FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 2, WEEK 2
This dress and this dress that I ordered for the wedding. They’re both on major sale, so I ordered both. I’ll try them on and return whichever isn’t the winner.
This printed scarf that looks way more luxe than it’s price tag.
I’ve been wearing boxer braids a lot lately when I’m teaching spin. If you know how to French braid, they’re really similar. Tutorial here.
Over the holidays, I read this book. I couldn’t put it down, and it’s my number one recommendation at the moment. If you liked Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train, this one is for you.
Want to know what kind of music I’m putting together for my spin classes? My initial playlist is here!
Just ordered these cute pants. I’m trying to wear jeans less often and branch out into some cooler pants.
I just discovered this girl on Instagram, and I’m obsessed with her style and poses. Love finding new inspiration.
Hair accessories are really having a moment right now. I just picked up this clip, but I’m also on the hunt for some great headbands. Such a good way to update your look when you’re pretty much just wearing coats and sweaters for the next few months.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Chicwish faux fur coat (I’ve been wearing it religiously. So cute!)| J. Crew Factory toothpick jeans | Rebecca Minkoff booties
