What do you think of when you think of London? Big Ben, the Queen, and rain? Even though London is known for being a rather grey and dreary city, there are an abundance of floral facades to Instagram throughout the city.
This spring, Jon and I took a brief trip to London for my birthday. I honestly couldn’t believe we’ve lived only an hour flight away, and I hadn’t yet been. My dad was in town, so it was the perfect excuse to get up to London and see what it was all about it.
Thanks to Instagram, I’ve seen so many images of cafes and shop fronts decked out in amazing flower displays in London. What I didn’t expect is exactly how many locations have floral facades. Not just relegated to cafes, many pubs have beautiful (live) flowers growing out of the front. I’m not sure if this is something they do just for spring, but I was totally feeling it.
I had a little time on my last day to check out some of the best floral facades to Instagram in London. My friend Charlotte of chatanguay.com showed me around. And now I’m going to share some of the best floral facades with you.
Head below for some of the best spots we visited, plus a few that I didn’t have time to see.
Xx, Kelsey
Elizabeth Street is the perfect one-stop street for a multitude of floral facades to Instagram. The first stop we made on this street after leaving Victoria Station is the famous all-pink Peggy Porschen Cakes.
Be warned, this place is crawling with bloggers, Instagrammers, and their boyfriends all trying to snap a picture out front. While I did end up getting a photo here, I kind of felt like it was me and every other blogger who has ever visited London. Worth seeing, but not the most original.
This floral facade was our second stop on Elizabeth Street, only a block or so from Peggy Porschen. What I really loved about this spot was that it belongs to a florist. With real flowers outside the shop, it felt much more 3-D. Kind of like stepping into a small garden right off the London streets.
This was my favorite floral facade in London. The front of the perfumery had the most beautiful floral display that actually stretched into the shop from the outside windows. It helped that my new J. Crew coat matched the flowers perfectly. I was surprised that it wasn’t more crowded, as I thought it was far prettier than the display at Peggy Porschen.
I happened upon this adorable bench while attending an event with Charlotte and looking for a spot to eat. Apparently there are four benches, which are routinely decorated differently. It was tough to find a free one to snap a pic, but totally worth it.
Proof that the pubs in springtime London have gorgeous floral facades to Instagram, too. I had a recommendation for this place in Covent Garden, but only stumbled upon it on my way home one night. I’m sure this would be a great spot for a very London-feeling floral facade. Get there in the morning to avoid any pub-goers drinking outside.
Jon and I passed this one on our way to Harrod’s, so I only snapped the briefest picture. Unfortunately above the cafe is covered in scaffolding, but the big floral letters were still so pretty.
PLACES WE DIDN’T STOP
This bakery is super famous in London. The location we saw was actually also on Elizabeth street. We just didn’t stop there, as I already had enough photos.
Another location on Elizabeth Street. Honestly if you just want to find a quick few floral facades to Instagram in London, visit this street. Another pretty store with lovely flowers around the window.
Selfridges was a bit far from all the places I was in London, which is why I didn’t end up seeing this cafe. The wisteria hanging from the ceiling is supposed to be quite pretty, though!
I was recommended this place for brunch, but the floral facade is also supposed to be really beautiful.
