I’ve fallen a bit behind on my outfit posts due to covid. It’s hard to think about shooting content when all you’re really wearing is leggings and an old sweatshirt. But fall is starting to roll around in Amsterdam, and things are much more open than before. Fall is my favorite season for fashion, so naturally I had to start sharing outfit posts again.
When doing my research on fall trends for 2020, I was super excited to see this classic fall outfit was returning. The preppy blazer + knee high boots look was one I wore regularly in college. But there are some key ways to keep this outfit from looking 2010.
First up is the blazer, my favorite part of this classic fall outfit. Look for a longer style like this boyfriend style (coming soon in the US). It’s more relaxed and the length is very flattering if you carry weight in your hips and thighs like me. Also, keep an eye out for houndstooth and plaid patterns. These just scream fall. There are a few really good ones at H&M or xxx right now.
Next up are the knee high boots. The boots can totally make or break your look. I fell in love with this western pair (EU) last year and will be rocking them again for 2020. You can find some more awesome knee high boots in this post.
The last thing I love about this look is how easy it is to throw together. You don’t need anything fancy underneath your blazer. Just throw on an easy white blouse and your favorite dark skinny jeans.
Would you wear this classic fall outfit? Let me know in the comments!
Xx, Kelsey
