Even though spring has taken a prominent position in my daydreams, the truth is we’ve still got a decent amount of winter to get through in Amsterdam. If you live somewhere where it’s already starting to warm up, I’m so totally jealous! While it’s been pretty mild overall (primarily rainy and 45 degrees), there is snow in the forecast for tomorrow.
One of the things I’ve learned about living in the Netherlands is the importance of a good coat collection. For most of the year, you’re going to be bundled up. If you want to be stylish, you’re going to have to have a decent coat collection. You can see what my recommendations are for your coat wardrobe in this post.
The style I’m loving the most this winter is the long teddy coat (more options linked below). Especially when I want to make a casual outfit more exciting. For this outfit, I layered my teddy coat over a sweater dress that I’d paired with hiking boots. I easily hid my second-day hair under my favorite Yankees cap (have to admit I still haven’t been to a game). Since I was out shooting a few looks with my photographer, I carried my favorite tote that Jon got me for Christmas. If I were just out and about for any other reason, I’d either bring a small crossbody or keep my phone and wallet in my coat pockets.
Here’s to hoping for warmer weather soon, but until then, it’s all teddy coat all the time. Let me know if the weather is warming up where you are so I can be insanely jealous!
Xx, Kelsey
