I’ve been living in Europe for three years now, and one of my favorite activities is sitting in a cafe people watching. It’s one of the primary ways that I find fashion inspiration since moving here. There’s something about European street style that’s just so much cooler than anywhere else.
One of the main street style trends that remains popular season after season? White sneakers. European girls (especially the Dutch) always have the best white sneakers. And they style them so well.
Since living in Europe, I’ve adopted the white sneaker trend with gusto. Four years ago you wouldn’t have caught me dead in sneakers unless I was working out. Now, they’re my most worn shoes, which means I’ve tried so many different pairs.
Today I’m sharing the four best white sneakers I’ve discovered since living in Europe. Below I’m breaking down why I like them, comfort level, and what to wear them with.
If you’re looking for more European fashion, head to this post where I break down the five ways to make your style more European.
Xx, Kelsey
- Nike Air Force Sage (EU) – Over the past year, I have worn this pair to death. They’re the more feminine version of the traditional Air Force 1 with a slightly lifted sole. Insanely comfortable and easy to slip on for a run to the grocery store. They’re slightly wider than the other white sneakers on this list and pair best with skinny jeans or dresses and skirts.
- Supergas Platform (EU) – This is the white sneaker that all the Dutch girls wear and the first pair I bought after moving to Europe. They’re a bit stiffer due to the thicker sole and take some time to break in. I loved this pair for the first year+ that we were here. They look good with literally every outfit from girly dresses to casual leggings or jeans.
- Converse High Tops (EU) – Honestly, I never thought I’d wear Converse until this summer. Something about them felt super cool, and I loved that I could get them in a unique off-white color. This is another pair that takes some time to break in. I got blisters the first time. But once they’re broken in, they’re awesome. And a lot of people swear by them. I paired mine with a silk skirt in this post, but they also look great with denim shorts or a midi dress.
- Nike Blazers (EU) – This pair is the newest addition to my collection and so comfortable. I picked them up because I wanted a pair that was a little more traditional. The look is a little more narrow than my Air Force’s, but they’re just as easy to slip on and go. I’m excited to wear these with skinny jeans and sweaters this fall. This is the pair I’m wearing in the photo above.
