This is a post I should’ve written a long time ago. If you know me, you know that fall is my favorite season. When these leaves turn and the temperatures start to drop, there’s nothing I love more than lighting fall candles. The scent of pumpkin or apples filling my home makes everything feel cozy – or as the Dutch say, gezellig.
Being back in the US, I’ve got a lot more fall candles at my fingertips. I’ve already stocked up on a few of my favorites for this year. I wanted to share my list of the best fall candles so you can stock up too. This list of fall candles includes sweet pumpkin scents, apple, and even some woody scents. There are fall candles for all tastes. Keep reading for all the best fall candles for this year and let me know in the comments if there’s a fall candle you love that didn’t make this list. I’m always looking to try new ones!
PS – If you like my match cloche in the photo above, you can shop a very similar one here.

Diptyque Feu de Bois – This is definitely my more luxe fall candle, but it really is such a cozy one. The candle is named wood fire for a reason. It’ll call to mind nights by a campfire in the best kind of way.
Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Apple – I really love a crisp apple scent to start the season. While this one does have pumpkin, it really smells more of apples and maybe a hint of cinnamon. Perfect for those first few crisp days.
Anthropologie Pumpkin Vanilla – I love this candle because it doesn’t smell overly sweet. It’s almost like someone is baking a pumpkin pie in the house.
Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Pecan Waffles – This fall candle has always been one of my favorites. It’s definitely the sweetest candle on the list, but not as bad as some of the cake candles at Bath & Body Works. This one is such a tradition for me, I couldn’t see fall without it.
Anthropologie Cinnamon Vanilla – If you don’t love pumpkin, this is a great fall candle. It’s yummy and delicious like snickerdoodle cookies.
Bath & Body Works Sweater Weather – I always save this candle for when it really starts to get a little cold at the end of fall. It has notes of pine without smelling like a full-on Christmas tree.
Target Harvest Spice – I’m not going to lie, I haven’t tried this candle yet, but it’s been so popular on Instagram. So much so, that I’ve added it to my most recent cart. I especially love the jar which can be repurposed as a bowl after burning.
