August is always such a funny month to me. It seems to sit somewhere between summer and fall, and the time seems to fly quicker than any other month. Here in Amsterdam, we already started to get our first taste of fall during August. This means August was a total mix match of summer and fall styles.
I have to admit I’m super excited for fall trends. I got to dip my toe in during the last two weeks of August, and I really can’t wait to implement them more fully in September. Check out the below August Instagram Roundup for all the details on the best outfits from the past month.

AUGUST INSTAGRAM ROUNDUP
Outrageous Fortune polka dot wrap dress | London Rebel nude block heel
This was my best performing photo ever, and it’s easy to see why! Meredith Soy Photography did an amazing job capturing it, and the little polka dot dress matched perfectly with the background. At $40 it’s a steal, but size up one as it runs small.
J. Crew sweater from several years ago (linking a similar version here) | J. Crew factory toothpick jeans | Banana Republic loafers (I also have them in silver, and they’re available in many colors. Highly recommend!) | Henri Bendel bag is several years old, but one in the same color (and on sale!) here | Similar red heart sunnies
Even though I felt like I was taking my life into my hands dealing with the bee attacking this waffle, this picture in Antwerp turned out really well. The rest of the camera roll… maybe not so much. These red accessories were a hit. I’m OBSESSED with how comfy these loafers are. I bought them in two colors!
J. Crew sweater is old (linking a similar version here) | America Today faux leather skirt (similar version available in the US here and here) | Enzo Angiolini mules (these have been so popular and one of my fave pairs of shoes) | H&M sunglasses
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of stripes. And this number I wore in Antwerp was just too good. I’ve actually had this lightweight J. Crew sweater for years and years, but you just can’t go wrong with blue and white stripes. In fact, it appears three times in this August Instagram Roundup, but that’s proof you guys like it!
Banana Republic scalloped tank | Banana Republic skinny jeans | Rebel London block heel | Shein clear bag (under $20 and one of my best purchases!)
Good basics make getting dressed so much easier. I picked up this top and these skinny jeans at Banana Republic in Denver, and they’ve been on rotation ever since. These nude block heels were part of my bridesmaid outfit for my friend’s wedding, but they turned out to be so comfortable and perfect for so many outfits.
Banana Republic water resistant trench coat (linked the black version, as khaki is sold out for the season) | Striped sweater is old J. Crew (similar ones here) | J. Crew Factory toothpick jeans | Rebecca Minkoff heeled booties
There’s nothing like a good trench coat for transitional dressing. This one from Banana comes out every spring and is waterproof. The classic color is sold out this season, but it’s still available in a few sizes in black. Or wait until spring and snatch yours up. It’s a worthy investment.
J. Crew tissue turtleneck (these haven’t been released for the season yet, so linking the striped version here) | Mango belt bag | Banana Republic skinny jeans | Western boots from the Loavies sample sale (similar pair here)
One of the things I try to do with my wardrobe is mix up classic pieces with of-the-moment trends. Belt bags have been a hot accessory in 2018, but the new way to wear them is like a cross body. This trend is super hot all over Europe, so I had to give it a try.
