Do you ever stumble upon a find that’s almost too good to be true? Maybe you’ve been thinking about getting something, but haven’t yet committed to searching for it. Next thing you know, you just happen to find it at the store without even looking for it. That’s what happened to me a few weeks ago when I found the most amazing, affordable camel coat by accident.
I’d been contemplating getting a midi length camel coat for a while. But it was always one of those semi-serious contemplations. Every once in awhile I’d browse online with no real intention to buy. Then the other week, I accompanied Jon to H&M to get some things for our trip to Italy. I decided to take a quick peek around the women’s floor. And there, on a rack of dresses was hanging the ideal camel coat – midi length with a belt at the waist.
Thinking there was no way it would be my size, I decided to check the tag. It was listed as a US 4, one size below mine. On a whim I decided to try it on anyway, knowing it would probably be too tight in the shoulders. Lo and behold, it was the perfect fit. Since a lot of coats are oversized at the moment, sizing down ended up creating the perfect sleek look I was after.
The very best part wasn’t even the fit. It was when I checked the tag and realized this was one super affordable camel coat. Coming in at fifty euros, it was a deal I couldn’t pass up. I’m all about shopping smart, and new an affordable option was just what I needed for such a trendy coat. (Pro tip: save your $$ for high quality classic wardrobe items).
For a Saturday running around Amsterdam, I paired my affordable camel coat with an all-black base layer. My favorite Sézane boots and an old J. Crew leopard bag completed the look. I topped it off with a Zara chain necklace (EU) and a black ribbon in my ponytail.
Tell me, what’s the best find that you’ve stumbled upon? And if you’re looking for more fall outfit inspiration, check out this post.
Xx, Kelsey
