Welcome to Kelseyybarnes – A fashion, lifestyle & travel blog providing inspiration from the perspective of a fromer American in Amsterdam.
Growing up, I spent more than twenty years as a competitive figure skater, which shaped the person I am today and expanded my love for fashion. From the time I was in high school, I designed all of my ice dance dresses based off of what came down the runways. After my figure skating career abruptly ended, I moved to NYC with my boyfriend to pursue a career in advertising. Living in New York inspired me to step out of my fashion comfort zone and live out all my Devil Wears Prada dreams.
When my fiancé and I got the opportunity to move to Amsterdam a few years ago, I knew I had the unique chance to share how my style was influenced by life as an American expat in Europe. And so kelseyybarnes.com was born.
After more than four years experiencing the abroad life, I’ve recently returned to the United States and settled in Jersey City just outside NYC. If you’re looking for an accessible way to incorporate European trends into your wardrobe and insight into the life and travels of a former expat, this is the place for you.
