My goal this summer has been to add more color into my summer wardrobe. I’m a sucker for neutral style, but this summer I started to realize that my closet was trending towards a few colors – white, cream, tan, and navy. These colors are a great basis for any summer capsule wardrobe because you can mix and match everything.
But that doesn’t mean that a pop of color isn’t just what you need to bring some life and fun into your closet. Personally, with all the things happening in the world this year, I felt it was appropriate to add some happy summer color trends to my wardrobe.
I’ve been regularly shopping for colored items as of late and have noticed myself trending towards a few select shades. Keep reading for a list of summer color trends to wear now before the season passes us by.
And let me know in the comments if there’s a color you particularly love this season.

Baby Blue
This color has been trending for a few seasons now, and I’m still not done with it. Baby blue pairs perfectly with all the white, cream and tan in my wardrobe. Plus the color reminds me of the beach or pool – two things we are not getting enough of this year.
Lavender
This summer color trend started to gain traction back in the spring. It’s a lovely shade that feels sofisticated and feminine. It’s honestly perfect for the garden or cottage core theme that’s been floating around Instagram.
Yellow
I cannot get enough of this color. No seriously, almost everything I’ve bought this summer is yellow. From tops to maxi dresses, this color is fun and vibrant. Who wouldn’t want to look like a ray of sunshine in such a dark time?
Bright Pink
Pink is one of those colors that comes back around every year in a slightly different shade. This summer the trending pink is bright, but not neon. It’s a strong color that feels super fun.
Sage Green
This color is the best summer color trend if you’re looking to wear the items into fall. Right now, a sage blazer feels super fresh with a white tee, but can also pair well with a cream sweater and brown boots come fall.
