I feel like every season since the summer of 2020, we’ve been saying “this will be the season we’re all back out like normal.” So far that hasn’t really happened. With restrictions being lifted across the globe, it really feels like this spring and summer will be an actual return to normalcy. And with that, comes all the excitement of getting dressed to do things again. Dinner with friends, travel, and even returning to the office all require getting dressed. Which makes it the perfect time to dive into the best 2022 fashion trends.
This spring I’m finding myself drawn to a couple of key trends. One of my favorites has been the popularity of Barbie pink looks as seen on the Valentino runway at Paris Fashion Week. Other trends include platform heels, maxi dresses, and green everything. Keep reading for the 2022 fashion trends I’ll be buying into this year.

Tweed Separates
We can all thank one of my favorite brands, Chanel, for once again bringing tweed back into style. Every few years, tweed comes back around. This year you’ll see tweed jackets, mini skirts, and shorts abound. I personally love a tweed blazer for a slightly more polished look.
Barbie Pink
Growing up as a girly girl, I couldn’t be happier that this bright happy pink is trending. I’ve already picked up this set for a friend’s bachelorette in Miami. Barbie pink is such a perfect color for our return to normalcy and can be found on everything from sweaters to mini dresses to strappy heels.
Green Everything
Another color I’m totally in love with this season is green. Green has been on the up and up over the past few seasons and will hit a fever pitch this spring and summer. Kelly green is my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any shade right now.
Platform Heels
The 70s have been on trend for a while (see this post from last spring) and aren’t going anywhere for 2022. In particular, platform heels were seen on nearly every runway at Paris Fashion Week – a clear sign this trend is coming in hot. You’ll also see a lot of Y2K style platforms since that decade is trending as well.
Mini Skirts
In contrast to the trending maxi hemline, mini skirts are also a wildly hot 2022 fashion trend. You don’t have to necessarily go low-rise like the Miu Miu pleated skirt that’s been all over Instagram. Mini skirts are popping up everywhere in various colors and styles. There’s something for everyone just in time for the weather to warm up.
Low-Key Luxury
Even though much of fashion at the moment is about loud, OTT statement pieces, you’ll also see a return to easy, chic luxury. You don’t have to spend a fortune to nail this look. Search for luxe feeling fabrics and classic silhouettes. One of my favorites for nailing this look? These puddle pants (EU).
